Wordpress 2.5 Preview

I finally found time to try Wordpress 2.5 which is set to be released tentatively on April - Preview of Wordpress 2.5 click here. Go ahead and try it out yourself.. (username: admin ; password: demo).
Hopefully, this is still a far cry from what they would like to achieve on its final version coz I wasn’t really impressed with it. I did notice some new features and design/layout changes. Rustic Orange didn’t really go well with that kind of blue (don’t you think?)! The options that we currently see on the left sidebar of our control panel have already been moved below the post box. There’s also a “media” option under manage wherein we can store photos (and maybe even other file types).
I really think Wordpress should add more stunning features to their CMS. Probably some useful features that we see on Social Networking Sites, or even incorporate options to help us monetize our sites better without the use of plugins.

I have to agree with you. I wasn’t all that impressed. It seemed to be lacking a bit. I hope they add some more features soon.

The navigation seems much more intuitive and helpful, but I’m not sure about the dashboard layout though…

I wasn’t at all impressed by the direction they’ve taken the admin section - maybe just because I’m not so familiar with it, but I found the colours more than a little jarring!

I totally agree with you. I am not impressed at all. Hopefully the final release will be much better and more intuitive. The ability to store photos and files seems to be a neat feature, though.
