10 Simple Blogging Tips You Shouldn’t Be Forgetting!

1. Encourage your Readers to Comment - Leave a question at the end of your post, this will tell your Readers that you are also interested in what they have to say about the topic. Sometimes, it gets too boring when your visitors would just say “Nice Post!” over and over.
2. Offer Something for FREE - Write an e-book or create a useful tool that people can download on your site without having to pay for it. Better yet, start a contest and give away some really good prizes to those who have subscribed to your feed! It’s a win-win situation, your visitors get something and you get to increase your readership and your traffic.
3. Fresh Content - Make sure to always update your site. Not just for Google’s sake but for your readers to always have something new to read each time they visit.
4. Use a Great Theme for your site - If possible, invest for a Customized Theme and make your site design stand-out! If you’re using a Free Theme then simply do some serious tweaking to try and personalize it.
5. Social Bookmarking - SU and del.icio.us can do wonders in generating targeted traffic to your website. Make sure your site is listed in the right category with its appropriate tags. Then submit your best articles on digg and once it gets to the front page, prepare to experience glorious digg effect.
6. Make a 404 error page for your site - The inner pages of your website gets indexed by search engines and if you rename or delete them you will be losing prospective visitors. You don’t want that to happen, right?
7. Return Comments - This is a good way to establish a good relationship with your readers. Try to know them by visiting their site and returning the gesture.
8. Show Related Posts in your Entries - If your visitor likes the article they are reading, this will stir their interest on the topic and having your related posts visible, they would most likely want for more.
9. Proofread your Entries - Don’t publish your post without editing it or reading through it again. Check for spelling and grammar errors.
10. Make your own Top 10 List - and do make sure it’s worth reading!
