Thumbs Up to the “DoFollow” Movement

We all hate spam comments! They are of no value anyway.. most of the time,
these comments just contains links to porn sites and warez. To address this issue,
google implemented the “no follow” tag. This development had good intentions, however,
the consequence to this is that it discourages bloggers to leave a comment or participate
in a discussion since they won’t get any “link juice” from high PR ranking Sites.

Wordpress on the other hand is “no follow” on default
and all you have to do is to simply install a plugin which will
turn off this function.

The dofollow plugin for WordPress lets you remove the evil
nofollow attribute from your comments.

Semiologic’s DoFollow Plugin

This is a plugin for WordPress.
It will disable the automatic rel=”nofollow” attributes added to external links.
Optionally you can also set a comment age limit for adding the attributes,
or have them removed differently from comments
left by registered users and other visitors.

This Wordpress plugin remove the “nofollow” attribute from your wordpress
blog’s comments and it inserts (if you want) an image band at the top of your
pages with the phrase: “NOFOLLOW FREE” to encourage your users to submit comments.

Akismet Plugin has always been there to save us from Spam Comments, don’t you think?
